| Our Review: Insurance.com immediately makes us feel welcome with their informational website. They offer quotes from top insurance agencies, although we couldn’t find which ones they worked with. However, if you do have questions or just prefer to talk to someone, contact information is right there at all times, which is a great benefit, as many people prefer to talk to someone in person. |

| Our Review: For once, an honest website. They openly disclose they don’t sell insurance, only offering quotes. Many sites will mislead you into thinking they’re actually selling you the insurance, but not this place. They just find you good quotes, and let the insurance companies do the rest. The only downside: once you fill out the forms you’ll have up to three different insurance companies calling and/or emailing you about their quotes. |

They do offer good quotes, but then you have to talk to the insurance companies yourself, and they all called me when I wasn’t available to talk. Getting an insurance quote is not very complicated. You need to make sure you have all of your information about whatever your insurance quote will be for. If you’re looking for car insurance, you’ll need to have the make, model, and sometimes the VIN number for your vehicle. If you want life or health insurance, you’ll need medical history for yourself and your family if necessary. If you want home insurance quotes, you’ll need information about the size of your home and other architectural details. These details can be found on your local county auditor’s website. For any type of insurance quote you will at least need to provide general contact information (name, phone, address, email, etc) and probably your social security number, or other form of identification. You can get insurance quotes from anyone with no obligation to buy. If someone tells you that if they quote you that you’ll have to purchase, they’re lying. Call someone else. The difference in using a traditional insurance company for insurance quotes and using a referral service is that the referral service will probably only provide ballpark estimates, whereas an actual insurance company can give you an exact quote, provided you have all the information they need. So it’s up to you when shopping for an insurance quote, because the sky’s the limit.
